The local music scene lost one of the best friends it ever had when Cleveland music fan and promoter Jim Clevo died March 24 at the age of 57. He helped countless area bands release their music on CD and carried word about the nprtheast Ohio scene to his network of national music industry people. Friends will gather at St. Christopher's in Rocky River to pay tribute to this tireless Cleveland band booster. Fri 4/10.

It's a sure sign of spring when the North Union Farmers Market at Shaker Square heads outdoors again for its regular-season opening day. A truckload of sheep gets sheared throughout the morning, shedding their winter coats as kids look on wide-eyed. Meanwhile their parents are welcoming back all their favorite local farmers and food producers. Sat 4/4.

* A few years ago the monthly Local Food Mondays series at Great Lakes Brewing's tasting room connected people interested in the area food scene and helped launch many home-grown projects many projects. The series has started again, and hopefully it will germinate the next generation of food-related ideas . Mon 4/6.
