The city of Cleveland's decision to go after small clubs for back admissions taxes — among the highest in the country — had the potential to destroy the local music scene. Luckily, a level-headed city council voted to lower the rate and the city worked out a deal with clubs like the Beachland Ballroom that let them stay in business. But the Beachland incurred what for them is an enormous legal bill, so some of their lawyer friends are hosting "Raising the Bar," an evening of lawyer/musicians playing to raise money to help pay off the debts. Fear's Confections, newly located in Lakewood since last fall, is hosting Fall in Love at Fear's so you can see all her holiday specials and get your shopping done before you realize at the last minute you forgot to get your sweetie anything and you have to rush to Walgreen's.
