Don Dixon & Marti Jones met back in the mid ’80s when he produced a record by her former band. The Canton songstress and Carolina producer settled in her hometown and have crafted their scintillating pop music from there ever since. Cleveland Independents has been promoting locally owned northeast Ohio restaurants for a decade through promotions like Cleveland Restaurant. During that two-week event, many of its 80-plus member dining establishments will serve a three-course meal for a flat price of $33. It's the perfect opportunity to get out to that restaurant you've been meaning to try. Mon 11/3.

* The profusion of fresh local produce is tapering off and many farmers markets have ended for the season. But many of your favorite markets have moved indoors where they'll continue to sell locally made specialty products like breads, pastries, smoked meats, almond milk, spices, pierogies, salsas, vinegars and other artisan food items, maybe even some greens, as more growers are extending the season with hoop houses and greenhouses. You'll probably find someone to order an organic Thanksgiving turkey from too.
