It's time to Pleibol! at the Baseball Heritage Museum September 22-24. Our fall fundraiser, presented in partnership with Julia DeBurgos Cultural Arts Center, is a three day celebration of African Americans and Latinos breaking the color barrier in America's favorite pastime.
Start the weekend Friday night with a dinner program featuring former MLB players Jim "Mudcat" Grant, Joe Azcue and Vern Fuller. Tickets are only $50 and proceeds support our organizations. Then kids can enjoy free clinics and all can watch community organizations play all on the historic League Park field. Details can be found here: BaseballHeritageMuseum.org.

The Smithsonian Institution has begun a collecting initiative to identify artifacts reflecting the influence of baseball in Latino communities, and they are bringing it to Cleveland. On Sat 7/22 from 10AM-2PM., curators will be at the Baseball Heritage Museum to record stories and review items for possible inclusion in national collections.
The Smithsonian is looking for baseball uniforms, game used artifacts, stadium signs, tickets, food signs, home movies, and vintage photographs. If you have these among your family treasures bring them! Or just come and enjoy the day and see how a Smithsonian exhibit is built from the ground up. BaseballHeritageMuseum.org
