Growing up in the Soviet Union with a father who quoted Russian and American poetry to settle arguments has defined poet Michael Dumanis' choice of poetry as a career. Dumanis is appearing at the upcoming Poetry In The Garden event, which includes a poetry contest, book signing and reception, along with poets Ilya Kaminsky (San Diego State University), Phil Metres (John Carroll University), Kazim Ali (Oberlin College), and Erika Meitner (Virginia Tech).
