Yes we can. And in a lot of ways, we already did.We've needed a quality arts journal since Angle ceased publication in '07, and this week CAN Journal and the Collective Arts Network blow out the candles and celebrate one year of awesomeness. Can. Did. MOCA Cleveland deserved a world-class museum, and they built themselves one; help them celebrate with the appropriately named show, Realization is Better than Anticipation. Can. Did.
After Tremont, Ohio City & Gordon Square, Cleveland was ready for the next nascent arts district. Waterloo is stepping up, and this week they throw their biggest jam of the year, the Waterloo Arts Fest. Can. Did.
A word of warning, now that summer's fully in our face and the kids are out of school. Cars can kill, and they do. Read Joe Baur's cautionary commentary on how drivers can keep the blood off their hands. Speaking of which, Mansfield Frazier has a candid conversation with Mayor Jackson about one of the darkest periods in all of Cleveland history: the 137 shots and the now increasingly disturbing aftermath.
