Andrea Chenoweth
Cleveland Orchestra soprano
Andrea Chenoweth is on her way to being a superstar opera singer. She's a two-time regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions, and she has appeared with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Cleveland Opera, Lyric Opera Cleveland, the Dayton Opera, the Springfield Symphony, and the Bach Society of Dayton. She's also performed the role of Madeline in the Ohio professional premiere of Philip Glass's
The Fall of the House of Usher and Pitti-Sing in
The Mikado with Lyric Opera Cleveland, and has performed
The Doll Song from Offenbach's
Les Contes de Hoffman with The Cleveland Orchestra. A Shaker Heights resident, she earned a Masters of Music in Voice from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Andrea spoke with
Cool Cleveland's Thomas Mulready just prior to a rehearsal for
Der Rosenkavalier recently, and they discussed her background, what it's like to sing with the fabulous Cleveland Orchestra, and her day job at Starbucks.
