Cuyahoga County Executive
Fall of 2009 was a turning point for Cuyahoga County. Decisive passage of Issue 6 forces the upcoming Tue 11/2 general election, creating a new form of County government, run by a County Council and a single Executive who will replace the current system of three Commissioners. This Executive will have unprecedented power, and has attracted an impressive field of six candidates, including Democratic, Republican and Green Party nominees, plus Independent and unaffiliated candidates.
Between Wed 9/22 and Sun 9/26, Thomas Mulready of CoolCleveland.com conducted video interviews with all six of the candidates running for Cuyahoga County Executive: Republican Matt Dolan, Green Party Candidate David Ellison, Democrat Ed FitzGerald, Independent Ken Lanci, Independent Tim McCormack, and Independent Don Scipione. For the first time, videos of all six candidates are available for viewing in one place: here.

Katie Dawson represents a couple of things: For one, she's an example of a recent college graduate coming back to Cleveland to work. Is this a trend? Probably not. But it's nice. And also, she's working on a brand-new locally produced TV show, Can You Relate?, that will debut on Sat 10/2 on WKYC-Channel 3.
Check out the interview in which Cool Cleveland correspondent David Budin talks to Katie to find out more about the show and how she feels about returning to Cleveland, even though she didn't have to. Watch the video here.
