I love Cleveland because of the architecture and the fact that my wife is from there. I love photography and going to Cleveland I am never at a loss for great photos!!! I was born, raised and live in Mississauga, ON, Canada. My wife returned to Cleveland a few months back for her work. I haven't made the committment yet to join her but love visiting the city. Cleveland is great! - Christopher Flynn, Mississauga, ON, CA

I love Cleveland because of all the possibilities this city has to offer. I am originally from Flint Michigan and moved to Cleveland 3 and a half years ago. I love having all of the museums, the West Side Market and the Flats at my disposal. Living in Flint all my life, I knew there had to be more out there and Cleveland definitely filled those idealistic hopes. My absolutely favorite thing has to be the bay area in general and going down to Edgewater and the small beach areas in Lakewood. It is so beautiful and a wonderful place to reflect on what a city means to it's inhabitants. I have never regretted transplanting to this city, which I now call home. - Chris Hyde (Tremont/Cleveland Ohio)

I left Cleveland 20 months ago to return to Connecticut. Although I may be close to the ocean, I have a spot in my heart for Cleveland. A long distance relationship keeps me on top of the LGA - CLE Continental schedule and I am always looking for the weekend deals. I miss you, West Side Market... I miss you, Aladdin's... I miss the kayaking on the Cuyahoga; the people I met. I miss the metroparks-- from the Zoo to Hinckley Reservation. How about Playhouse Square? There may be Broadway, but the "production" of getting in and out of the city is an adventure itself. (When will there be a good connection from MetroNorth/NYC subway to LGA? I waited for almost 30 minutes at 125th St. and there was no bus!) Now, I wait on I-95 in traffic, hoping to avoid the rush hour! (Cleveland rocks.... but you already knew that!) - Meredith, Connecticut

  • Cleveland is brimming with history
  • Cleveland has Arts & Culture
  • Cleveland has top-rated medical facilities
  • Cleveland has something for everyone
  • Cleveland is home
  • Cleveland is my family history - Linda Graham, Garfield Heights

Hell, it's more than Cleveland. There's not many places you can leave the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame on a cool lakeshore in the city and in less than a gallon of gas (depending on your eco-friendliness of your vehicle), you'll be smack dab in the middle of Amish country and able to buy some of the best meats and cheese for an incredibly ridiculously low price. Same goes for some marvelous woodworking and other crafts. Head back on the road for another half hour and you're touring the Football Hall of Fame. On the way back north, you can see Inventure Place and have a brew at the Spider. If the suns still up, catch a late hike on one of the many trails in the Cuyahoga Valley Park and be home for a sunset dinner by the lake. - Matt Evans

Kind of funny I'm writing in for a Euro style bumper sticker….I moved to Cleveland from Glasgow, Scotland only 2 years ago - after meeting my now Fiancé in the Dive Bar, and have been greatly surprised with this amazing city, and proud to now call it home.

My top 5 reasons why Cleveland is so Cool

1. The city is a blaze with the Arts and Culture scene

  • CMA expansion making it the top Arts venue in the US
  • Theater District second only to New York
  • We have the world renown Cleveland Orchestra on our door Step
  • Plenty of art walks, feasts, fairs and festivals ALL over Cleveland to get your culture fill……all through the year.

2. Numerous individual restaurant districts to suit everyone's taste and you can rotate endlessly to discover new great eats! - Little Italy, Tremont, Shaker, Warehouse District, Coventry

3. Fantastic outdoor activates round the seasons

  • Fantastic Metro Parks on your back door for biking, trekking and running
  • Lakeside parks and beaches for relaxing and grilling
  • Lake Erie great for boating, surfing, boarding….get out and get wet!

4. Cleveland has one of the best wine growing regions in US (after CA, OR, WA, NY). The Great River area produces gold medal wines. This is a little treasure which unfortunately goes mainly unrecognized by most locals

5. Fantastic range of bars, clubs and restaurants all in the heart of Cleveland from wine bars, martini clubs, beer dens, Jazz clubs…all in walking distance of each other!

With all that choice, who can manage to find time to fit in regular work?

This is simply a fantastic City with tons to offer everyone. It has a great individual feel/character, without feeling too large and intimidating for visitors. After spending the past 2 years touring all these great areas - I'm hooked.

I'm only surprised why we struggle with tourism with all these offers, and only now building the Cleveland 'Brand'. - Matthew McAllister, Cleveland Heights

I love Cleveland. This is something I was not comfortable saying out loud too long ago, but things changed once I bought my first home in the city. I live in one of the best neighborhoods. It is incredibly diverse, across race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and religion. I always encourage those looking for homes to buy here! Live here! Old or new, big or small, it's here, it's affordable, and it's rewarding. These things, among the other "pluses" in the city and region, have renewed a spirit of love and appreciation for CLE+! - Bethany Lukasko

Having lived and visited a diverse number of cities in the US, my heart keeps coming back to Cleveland. For me, it's the only logical choice, the arts and culture where I make my living is well supported, there's a wealth of beaches to swim and kayak, the restaurant choices are amazing: ethnic, high end, pub and everything in between, we're getting greener as a city and I love that when I walk downtown, I almost always see someone I haven't seen in a while. I can't imagine I could attain the quality of life I have here anywhere else without winning the lottery. - Sarah Stilgenbauer, Cleveland

I love Cleveland for many reasons. I have children living in Boston and Seattle. Those cities are great, but they do not have all that Cleveland has to offer. I live in a home that is so beautiful, yet it is very affordable. I can walk to Coventry and the major museums. My husband and I love riding our bikes through Rockefeller Park on the bike path to downtown. There are so many wonderful restaurants and eateries that are reasonable in price. The Cleveland Orchestra and Place House Square are outstanding. Best of all, living by a large lake and the" Emerald Necklace" are bonuses that most cities do not have. These are enhanced by the change of seasons which I love having in this part of the country. I can not tolerate anyone living here who puts the city of Cleveland down. And I love when I hear from visiting family and friends how much they enjoy Cleveland and how pleasantly surprise by what they find here. - Joannie Havach

I am live long Clevelander, except for 7 years of my life from age 18-25, where I was out-of-state for college and in Columbus for law school. I came back home because I love Cleveland. Yes, we have many great things to do here from the sports teams to the Westside Market. No one can doubt that Cleveland offers as much to do as any city in the U.S. Thats all grand, but Cleveland is cool because its my home. I grew up here and moved back because my family's here. This is my home, and I couldnt imagine living in any other place. - Alex Cortes

I was born and raised In California and moved to cleveland when my parents transfered jobs. Cleveland and I are kinda a love/hate relationship... but the love is stronger than the hate. I love Cleveland becuase there are a number of things to do year round. Being a single mom, Cleveland is affordable for me to stand on my own two feet and STILL enjoy going out. Concerts, festivals, INDIANS, Down town, the Merto Park, the zoo, shopping is so close and a number of great local resturants and brewerys! Needless to say I can stay busy and teach my daughter a number of things all within 30 miles of my door step. I love Cleveland because Cleveland Rocks! Dont get me wrong I'll always be a California girl at heart, However... Cleveland has deffantly become home to me! - Hannah Gonia

I love living in Cleveland. I go to a few Tribe games a week, this summer, not to mentions Browns and Cavs during their time. I love that I don't even need a car because I ride my bicycle everywhere, and if it's really far, just plop my wheels on the rapid. - Zack Acerra

Lake Erie, the Cuyahoga River, the Emerald Necklace, the Tow Path, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Clev-Net Library system, Case Western, Cleveland State, the Cleveland Institute of Art, Baldwin Wallace, the Botanical Gardens, the Cultural Gardens, the Zoo, Great Lakes Science Center, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Football hall of fame just south of here, the West Side Market, Cleveland Originals restaurants, Great Lake Brewery, Rock Bottom, the Chop House, Willoughby Brewing, Rocky River Brewing, the Beer Engine, our Wineries, our Butcher shops, Honey Hut, Mitchell's Ice Cream, Pierres' Ice Cream, our independent Art Galleries, our independent theaters, Parade the Circle, Ingenuity Fest, the unending cycle of various local festivals, the Cavs, the Indians, the Browns, Affordable Housing, our cost of living, the Co-Op, Farmer's Markets, Herd Shares, Kielbasa, Pierogies, Kolochki, 90.3 WCPN, Channel 25 WVIZ, the Local Music Scene, the Scene, the Free Times, Tremont, Slavic Village, Ohio City, Detroit Shoreway, Gateway, the Warehouse District, University Circle, Lakewood, the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, Metro Health, the Rapid, our temperate weather which is moderated by the Lake, our people, history, and diverse cultures. There is so much more, it is an embarrassment of riches. - Joe Marunowski

Although I live in California now, I'm a Cleveland girl through and through. So, I'd absolutely love to be able to sport a "CLE+" euro-style sticker on my car to recognize my pride in my hometown. So, why did I leave my hometown? After growing up and living in Cleveland for 30 years, I fell in love with a guy. The only problem? He was on his way to the west coast to live in San Diego, CA. It was a tough choice to leave home, but I did it, and I've been living here in San Diego for almost 2 years. And you know what? I still mis Cleveland, and I still love getting my "Cool Cleveland Newsletter" in my inbox. You'd think the California sun and surf would make it easy to forget home, but I am reminded on a regular basis of the things I miss so much about "my town" I find myself making comparisons a lot! San Diego ha nothing that even compares to the Cleveland Museum of Art. I could get lost in the CMA for hours on a weekend afternoon; but here in San Diego, I'm done strolling through their galleries in less than an hour! And don't even get me started on the public library comparison! The Cleveland system is one of the best in the nation. Back home I could browse the catalog online, select books fro all over the county, and have them sent to my local branch all for free. Here in San Diego, that luxury will cost $ per book, and they don't have near as many holdings. San Diego has local farmers markets, but nothing to compare to the West Side Market. I now enjoy the sun, sand, and surf but I miss the lush greenery of Cleveland. And yes, I miss the rain and the thunderstorms, two things we don't have here. The cost of living is nothing to envy here in California, either. For the cost of a 1-BR condo here, could have a decent sized house with a yard, driveway, and garage back home! Most of all, though, I miss some of m favorite restaurants: Empress Taytu Ethiopian, Johnny Mango, The Market Avenue Wine Bar, Kimo's Sushi, Brennan' in Fairport Harbor, Nate's Deli, and those amazing bratwurst at Frank's in the West Side Market. Don't get me wrong, San Diego is still a wonderful place But when I tell people where I'm from, I say "Cleveland!" with pride. There's a good life in Cleveland! If I receive a "CLE+" sticker, my car would wear it with pride! - Toni Riccio, San Diego, CA

I moved to Philly for work at the beginning of 2007 and miss Cleveland. I will do everything in my power to return in a few years. It's a challenge to list one or all the reasons why it's as great as it is but the first five that come to mind are that it's affordable; it's a great city to raise a family; it has countless options for recreation, culture, dining, nightlife, etc.; it has a storied history in professional sports and a devoted fanbase; and it's not overpopulated. I would be proud to diplay the Cle+ bumper sticker. - Peter Jensen, Philadelphia, PA

The coolest things about Cleveland are its food and its music. Places like Melt, the Souper Market, the Flying Fig (my personal favorite), and the Grovewood Tavern are indicative of the creative and simply outstanding cuisine one can find around every corner in this city and its surrounding burgs. Despite its repeated place of honor in other letters, I would be remiss to fail to mention the absolutely stupendous West Side Market. It is a Cleveland gem. In addition, Cleveland must truly enjoy premier status as a tour stop for nearly every band in the nation from the unknown blues quartet to the 30-year veteran rock super group; they come to play at venues like the Beachland, the Agora, and The Winchester. Cleveland is a remarkably cool town. Thanks Cool Cleveland for reminding us all of how good we have it on the North Coast. - Bob Corrigan

I’ve always experienced Cleveland as a Big City with Small-Town Heart. Affordable major attractions which celebrate nature, athletics AND the arts combine with the friendliness and philanthropy of its people, easy access to a wide variety of quality health care and higher education institutions, and a low cost of living to make Northeast Ohio truly one of the best-kept tourist and resettlement secrets in the nation. MY “Cle+” sticker will travel around town and across the nation on my guitar case… - Diana Tyler

I have lived in Cleveland Heights for 60 of my 63 years and there is no better place for classical music and film. I had a friend that lived here for several years,he was from Paris, and was involved in the arts and he felt that John Ewing of the Cinematheque did the best job of bringing in quality film. Better then any city he had lived in and he had lived in many arts communities. I am so happy that you have this sight and I hope that Cleveland stops thinking of it's self in the negative. It is a beautiful, artful community! - Ann Iannarelli

My husband and I moved from Cleveland to NYC two years ago ... and we LOVE NYC (can not stress that fact enough!!!) however ... we will always have a huge place in our heart for Cleveland ... hell ... we still own our house in the Detroit - Shoreway area ... 216 will always be our "home". - Margaret Gallagher, Koehler New York, NY

Cleveland is so very cool because of the deep cultural roots that make it unique. From the West Side Market to the many churches and cultural centers, all are welcome here! - Jenny Hudak

I've lived in Cleveland my entire life-and every week it seems that I'm finding more and more events that I've yet to attend! Through its rich cultural history and epicenter of arts, I can always check my email for Cool Cleveland to give me something to do this weekend! Whether you want to take a day to relax on the beach by yourself, or attend a zany festival of sorts with like-minded citizens, there is no lack of variety and excitement to be had in this amazing city! - Sara Valek, Lakewood

Both of my daughters have moved out of state in the past few years. In travelling to see them I have realized that this is THE place I want to be. No horrible tragic weather...they have hurricanes and tornados. We are within a few hours drive of tons of things to do including going to another country! I love the University Circle area with all the free things to do, the lake is beautiful and we have such a diverse area you can find just about anything you want or need right here in town. - Pat Holcomb

I moved here from Texas a couple of years ago and thought that Cleveland wouldn't have anything to offer. Boy, was I wrong! Cleveland has a wonderful West side Market, theaters, sports, and all the arts & culture you would want. I especially like the snow!!! Yes, SNOW!! It's so beautiful. Cleveland also has some of the nicest people. - Hoang Ainsworth

Where else in America can you afford to go to a Cavs game on Friday night after a great dinner in the Warehouse District, head to a concert by the world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra on Saturday night and still have enough money to wake up in your beautiful Shaker Heights home on Sunday morning and get ready to send your kids to a great public school come Monday a.m.? You can afford to do all those things in Cleveland and still have money left over for a Florida vacation in February. Try all that in a weekend in NYC or LA on a "regular" salary. Now that's cool Cleveland! - Helen Jones-Toms

It has such a variety of places to see, the architecture is amazing on the older buildings, people are friendly and you can always find something to do any day of the week. I lived in Ontario Canada for about 9 months last year and dearly missed my home town of Cleveland which I returned to in late May. Toronto may be close to being a mini-NY but Cleveland has style! - Cyndy Krejci-Flynn

I'm originally from Northwest Michigan (that means northwest portion of the lower peninsula for you non-Michiganders). I moved to Cleveland for the educational and employment opportunities compared to my home town. I'm constantly in awe of the number of universities and colleges represented in this area. Cleveland has a great wealth of natural beauty, though it seems somewhat hidden at times. The recreation trails like the metroparks (the emerald necklace) and the towpath, and the latest efforts to embrace the steel yards and Cleveland history. Wendy park and edgewater park on a clear day looking over the lake or at the structure of downtown. Westside market, the zoo, and so many museums. Centrally located with highway access for traveling nearly anywhere and an international airport. Reasonably priced housing. These are just some of the reasons I continue to live here. - Jodie Schneider

We’re starting to move forward here in NE Ohio, thanks in no small way to organizations like Cool Cleveland. It’s always been essential that we rethink the boundaries (geographical, cultural, economic, etc.) that we draw around ourselves and our neighborhoods. And today, NE Ohioans increasingly traverse the central city – forging across the Great Cuyahoga --to enjoy friends, businesses and cultural institutions. We have an incredible wealth of talent in this region and the key to unlocking its socioeconomic potential is as simple as a hand shake. From Lorain to Youngstown and Cleveland to Canton, we’re a community on the rise. And that dynamic is nothing short of thrilling. - Jim Doughman

Cleveland is cool simply because of the people and places that make us who we are. Naysayers beware - the next generation of Clevelanders is rising and isn't going to put up with your badmouthing and "woe is me" attitude. It's time for us to be proud of who we are: a region full of good-hearted people; an underrated arts and entertainment center; passionate professional sports fans; dedicated volunteers and philanthropists; and, the best health-care town around. Let's stand up for ourselves and continue branding our region in the way it should be! - Al DiFranco, Willoughby, Ohio

''Cleveland is cool because it has one of the best Metroparks in the country - no matter what side of town you live in you have access to a unique eco-friendly place to escape to. The cultural arts environment is very unique Playhouse Square cannot be beat! University Circle with its renaissance is outstanding... the new art museum will be outstanding. The entertainment district is continuously evolving starting at the flats - to West 6th Street - to east 4th - to the restaurants along gateway. then you have lake erie which is a hidden jewel with its recreation and fishing. lets not forget burke Lakefront Airport with the races and the airshow along with the regular air traffic that keeps hopkins from being overloaded and air access for large corporations convienent. rock-n-roll hall of fame, great lakes science museum. the greatest football fan base in the country - go browns! this is a town that is constantly rebuilding itself - Cleveland Clinic, Case Western Reserve Rniversity, RTA and more. Lets not also forget the fact you can go exploring into the neighborhoods and find cool things to do - Tremont area - Coventry district - Shaker Square - cedar-fairmount - crocker park - legacy village. also how about that access to the airport via rta - how cool is that. also do not forget cleveland has one of the coolest sunsets over Lake Erie in the country. '' - John M. Shoemaker

My husband and I are native Cleveland Hts and Shakerites, and just spent last weekend with his brother who has been living in NYC and Norwalk CT for the last 20+ years. What makes our experience so superior to the fast paced east coast mentality is the real QUALITY of our lives here. I'm a bit of a history nut and totally understand why the settlers of our CT Western Reserve came here in the early 1800's- looking for land and a different life than the one they had there. This hasn't changed...opportunities created then and for all the immigrants, their descendants and new residents. We can really sense that energy within the land, institutions and people living here, and we continue to create our experience as we go just as our forebears did. We still have the freedom, will and mentality to do that for those who tap into it! The Cleveland experience is one of quality that isn't attached necessarily to $$$ or possessions or keeping "up with" your neighbors (although you can certainly find that too here, if needed;)! You can set your own pace and not worry about getting trampled if you don't "keep up". You can breathe. You can stop and THINK about life and not be carried away by it. And you can truly savor all we have to offer which is an enormous gift we have all inherited. I love being a Clevelander and will call this the home I value more and more as time goes on! - Ronda Snyder

Cleveland is cool because it's big enough to have lots of stuff going on but small enough that newcomers like me don't get overwhelmed. - Megan Frantz

I moved to Cleveland from Atlanta 13 years ago. My parents are now in Memphis, TN. It is 100+ degrees there – they are stuck inside all day. The summer is perfect in Cleveland. My husband, one-year old daughter and I just had a great summer vacation right here in Cleveland – why leave when the weather is perfect and there’s so much to do? We went to the zoo and Memphis Kiddie Park and just enjoyed our back yard. Yes, January and February are a little tough, but that’s when you make a nice cup of hot chocolate, light a fire and enjoy a good book. - Lori Rupert

There are many reasons why Cleveland is so cool. Having a complete episode of "30 Rock" being dedicated to us, the local music scene, great microbrews, college radio, I could go on. However, on Friday, July 27, 2007 I went to the Tri-C Jazzfest at Malls B and C downtown and it was great!! Not only did Medeski, Scofield, Martin, and Wood headline for free, but it was the coolest venue on our beautiful Lake Erie with all the high rise buildings behind us and a big beautiful moon. I see a lot of live music, the sound system was amazing, the screens were crisp with great camera angles. Probably the best I've seen all year. I was thinking, if I were from a different city visiting, I would be thinking how Cool Cleveland is! Like Alec Baldwin says, "We'd all like to flee to the Cleve"! - Amy Wolf, Berea

Having moved away from Cleveland to St. Louis eleven months ago, I'm already finding myself nostalgic for all of those uniquely Cleveland-centric things that were so familiar growing up...Parma Pierogies, the holiday lighting ceremony downtown, the Bionic Woman at the Health Museum, Honey Hut ice cream...things that only other Clevelanders can appreciate. Rest assured that when my time in St. Louis is over, I'll be back in Cleveland, this time to stay! No other place can hold a candle to it! - Leah Lombardo, St. Louis, MO

Because people just can't believe this balding 40 something can be this hip! And I've got a Torino to prove it!. Just kidding. - Fred Presler

Cleveland is cool because we have fantastic metroparks and my personal favorite the Canal Towpath for biking and walking the dog! And there's also Great Lakes Dortmunder, Winking Lizard, Michael Symon, boating in the summer, skiing in the winter and The Cavs, Indians and Browns! - Alison Memmer, Brecksville

I love Cleveland because it is my home. I am born and raised in Cleveland and I can't imagine living anywhere else. Other Cities are nice to visit but there is something to be said about "home". You can't beat that feeling. - Monica Day, Fairview Park

The best thing about Cleveland is that there is always so much to do. All you have to do look around... Cool Cleveland is a good source. - Tim Vereb, Copley

Cleveland is very cool during the spring, summer and fall because we have great golf courses, great hike & bike trails, incredible arts and family events, and it's just so affordable to live here. During the winter, Cleveland has cars, planes and trains so that you can get the heck out of town. Hey, nothing is perfect... (The CLE+ sticker is a great idea. Can't wait to get one!) - Allen Freeman, Brecksville

Why do I love Cleveland? Not for its bricks and mortar and all the wonderful restaurants, sports or museums. But for the intangible things that few cities have. We have roots and they run run deep. How many people in other big cities across this country can say that they can hand their house keys to their neighbor so they can feed their cat or water their plants when they go away for the weekend or find a gallon of milk in the fridge that aren't sure how it got there. Sure, Chicago and New York are splashy and little more "metro" than we are. But we have the stuff that matters. We have what's irreplaceable and not easily found – good people who look out for each other and reach out to others in their community. Neighbors and friends you can count on from the time you meet them in elementary school until you retire 50 years later. People and our compassion is what makes this town the best, bar none. - Lisa Maher, Lakewood

I love Cleveland because it is a big small town. Every time I go out, I see someone I know at the grocery store, starbucks or dinner. That makes it a great place to do business too. Nearly everyone I meet becomes a friend or acquantance because people are so friendly and open to improving the networking in Cleveland. There is usually 1-2 degrees of separation between people. You nearly always know someone in common. Cleveland is a great place to raise kids with tons of stuff to do each weekend. There is affordable child care, lots of green space and tons of people with like minded real family values (like liberal ones). I could go on and on. I love it here. - Rachel Kabb-Effron

Cleveland is cool because it has the heart and strength to "turn it around" and start building opportunities instead of focusing on the naysayers. - Deb Carey

CLE is cool because of the people and the city! - Mark Cabelin, Madison

My favorite thing about Cleveland is that there you are NEVER at a loss for something to do. My very favorite parts are the Metro Parks where I can ride my Vespa from end to end and never see the same thing twice. The way Clevelander's take advantage of Summer time, there is always something going on, always something fun to do and attend. Things that expand your horizons and broaden your mind, art walks, street festivals, free music, theatre, Severance Hall, Crocker Park and Legacy! In the short 15 years I have lived in Cleveland, I have done, enjoyed so much and I've met some awesome people. Cleveland, It's all here! - Nilda Morell, Brookpark

One night hanging out with friends downtown, we ran into a friendly bum. He calls himself "The Black Fonz" and will usually great you with a thumbs up and an "ehhhh", Fonz style. All he ever needs is a buck or two for a cold beverage. We decided to take him into Tequila Ranch and gave him a beer and a shot, and almost convinced him to ride the bull. We probably would have hung out with him all night if it wasn't offensively obvious he hadn't showered in 3 weeks. Where else can you get those random diverse interactions? Only in a place as cool as the warehouse district in Cleveland. Please send me a Cle+ sticker so I can scream it from a mountain top. - Jeff Goggins

Cleveland rocks because of the big city amenities (major sports, great restaurants, fine museums…) with the small city traffic! - Aseem Garg, Westlake

Crocker Park! (Heh Heh) My favorite part of Cleveland is actually the Metroparks and all of the fantastic biking/walking/rollerblading trails that make our city unique. The dog parks are also fantastic. - Meghan Borato, Cleveland Heights

Cleveland + is cool because the area is just large enough to offer us the wonderful cultural amenities that so many of us take for granted, but also small enough to have a small town feel. Cleveland + is where you aren't surprised to run into someone that you know when you are out enjoying the city. - Cami Thompson

We came to visit Cleveland in 1999 on a road trip from Wisconsin for the food, specifically to eat at Lola. We were ready for a big change in our lives and we moved to Ohio City a year ago and could not be happier! We wanted an urban setting that still had a neighborhood feel and not the crazy expense and traffic of a city like Chicago. We have met wonderful, friendly, and unique people. We love the West Side Market, the parks, the RTA to get around, the restaurants, I could go on and on. As far as we are concerned, Cleveland has it all and then some! - Nancy Doyle

I think CLE is cool because of our great music history. Especially our music icons from the mid 70's early 80's music scene. Pere Ubu, The Pagans, Devo, The Waitresses, etc.. Our artists are dedicated and real! It's obvious they love the medium because they seem to never get the recognition they deserve yet they never disappoint us, their hard core fans. Our underground/avant garde scene is still alive. Long live the rust belt!!! - Marie Vivolo

I love Cleveland for the great mix of food and entertainment it has to offer, not the least of which are the breweries. From the Willoughby Brewing Company in my own backyard, the Rocky River Brewery on the west side, or Great Lakes Brewery just west of downtown, you definitely don't have to look much farther then CLE for great beer. I even brewed my own beer at the Brew Kettle in Strongsville last year. How great is that. - Bob Moderick, Willoughby

It's cool because we DON'T HAVE forest fires, hurricanes, earthquakes, for the most part flooding or drought, or overcrowding, temperatures are not +100 or -40... We have The Islands, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, The Emerald Necklace Park System, Lake Erie (lots of water), the best hospitals, great museums, exceptional colleges, all the major sport franchises, a low cost of living compared to other cities, reasonable priced housing, lots of good restaurants, bars and nightlife, we are geographically located near and surrounded by states with an abundance of other good things that we can experience... while in school growing up I always thought about going to college in southern California and then living out there, I didn't and I'm glad I stayed, every time I travel out of state and return I realize how good we have it here in CLEVELAND, OHIO and the surrounding areas.... - Joe Zema

Cleveland is amazing! We have something for everyone! Great food, great people great places to see and visit. Great for singles, marrieds and families! Every corner of Cleveland is a real treat! People are always welcome and accepted here...every last one of us. We open are hearts to the world and let everyone in! We have a world class orchestra, museums, theatres, a great lake, amazing park system, restaurants, the Rock Hall, The Cavs, The Indians, The Browns, amusement parks, drive- ins, amish country, everything! We have PRIDE! Cleveland Rocks!!!!!! - Joel Valenti

I was born in New York and lived there until 1992 when I moved to Cleveland and since then I have found that Cleveland has the same foundations as new york, the same architecture, same names rockefeller carnegie etc. and I immediately felt comfortble here, as I have spent more time here and met more people who live here but are from other places in the country alot of them have expressed that same feeling of comfort and familiarity...there is something about Cleveland that keeps you from getting home sick when you move here and allows you become a clevelander... in my work I travel the country, and that same thing happens, no matter where I go, I am welcomed because I am from Cleveland, and there is someone there who has a brother-in law, cousin whoever from cleveland and you are just looked at as a more genuine entity when you are a Clevelander. oh and I love the orange barrels. honestly. when traffic is slow and you see the barrels you know exactly why it's slow....unlike when you see flasing cop/EMS lights or a series of seemingly unmanned and purposeless yellow trucks taking up 2 lanes for no reason. - Carl Sommer, Elyria

Please send me a CLE+ bumper sticker and I'll affix it to my 1998 Audi that is about to turn a quarter million miles - most of which have been amassed through drives to Cleveland. I lived near Cleveland (in Lake County) for a few years after graduation and since moving back to Erie I've spent a lot of time on I-90 traveling back to the city for sports and entertainment. The coolest thing about Cleveland? The Cleveland Marathon - 26.2 miles of Cleveland sites. - Rob Prindle, Erie, PA

Cleveland is so cool because it has great restaurants, museums, sports teams and it is easy to live here affordably! - Heather Nagel, Cleveland Heights

My wife and I moved from Cleveland to Fort Lauderdale (to join the family business) three and a half years ago. And a week does not go by that we don't sincerely miss something about Cleveland. West Side Market, orchestra, Jacobs Field, the view of the river from our Riverbend Condo, the people, the inexpensiveness, the museums and performance centers...the list goes on and on. My favorite saying: "All else being equal, Cleveland offers you better and more than any other city we have ever visited." - Rubén Garcia, Fort Lauderdale, FL

Because of the growing number of farmers markets in and around the city--especially the Kamm's Corners Farmers Market! - Steve Lorenz, Executive Director, Kamm's Corners Development Corp.

I have considered living elsewhere... the mountains, Seattle etc. Once I start looking at real estate ads and realize I would have to live in a trailer park for more money than I pay to live in my wonderful single family home here (in Lakewood), I feel grateful to live here. We also have so much to do in Cleveland, especially in the summer. There are cultural festivals, art festivals, museums, amusement parks and countless free entertainment opportunities in the park system. Cleveland and the surrounding areas are great! - Chris Cowen, Lakewood

Low cost of living, diverse neighborhoods, the Cleveland Metroparks and great restaurants! - Jeremy Borger, Cleveland

I love Cleveland because it is home to me. My grandfather moved here from Slovakia in his 20's with no more than a third grade education. He pulled the same lever and made the same hole in the same part in the same manufacturing plant for 35 years. He raised 5 children and put them through school. That is why I love Cleveland. - Ryan Scavnicky, Hinkley

Cleveland's COOLER THAN EVER because we're more open than ever to new ideas. It's incredibly easy to make your mark here. - Charles Gliha, Slavic Village

Cleveland's cool because of the wealth of live theater venues available--top-notch professional (regional and touring), repertory and summerstock, community and school-based. - Jon Fancher, Rocky River

I'm a life long Clevelander, who recently accepted an assignment with my company in NYC (Now I REALLY hate those Yanks.) While the people are friendlier than reputed, and there is plenty to do (and I am enjoying those many things)...it seems everyone wants to do the same thing at the same time. This may be the slowest place on the planet. The famed New York minute seems to take twenty. I miss the Wine Bar, the lake, The Tribe, the art museum, the ease of getting around town, Ohio City and all the cool things that make Cleveland...well...Cool Cleveland. I'd LOVE to place the Cle+ sticker on my mini as I sit in all the traffic on the "Not So" Grand Central Parkway going out to my Long Island Office. '''- Jim Newell, Brooklyn, NY'''

The Peter PEZ for Pezident campaign started in Cleveland at Pezamania, "The World's Largest PEZ Convention," held every July for the past 17 years in the Cleveland area. This bumper sticker would look cool next to my Peter PEZ campaign sticker. - Jill Cohen, Beachwood

Cleveland is a city of communities of every sort, communities which span ages, cultural heritages, political affiliations and cross generations. I think that creates both a comfort and dynamism that's exciting, rewarding and personally enriching. - Kevin Cronin

We love the change of seasons & the Metro Parks! We have a GREAT ZOO! And there is nothing like a summer night at Blossom with the Cleveland Orchestra! - Frances Miller

Cleveland has something for everyone:bars, restaurants, great music venues-all kinds of genres, art-museums and galleries, theatre, dance of all kinds, auto racing, movie festivals, tons of ethnic festivals, small towns or areas of town that have kept there distinct style and unique qualities, and above all else we sit on a great lake so we have fabulous boating, swimming, and great sunsets. oh, and let's not forget the metroparks system for picnics and hiking. lots of different churches so anyone can find a home for their spirituality. i guess i could go on and on...... - Joni Lucarino

Cleveland is cool because of the lake, the museums, the zoo, the sports teams and the ethnic eats. - Betty Gregovich, North Olmstead

Coolest thing about Cleveland is Lake Erie. Other major cities in Ohio are jealous - Erik Heinrich, Parma

Cleveland is soo cool because we get away with misspelling the founder's name, can't agree on how to pronounce one of the major streets (Carniege) and recognize outsiders whenever they attempt pronounce the name of our crooked river or crooked ('officially speaking) county. - Steven Whiting

Cleveland is cool because i have lived in Boston, Dallas, and Toled (nice mix) and I came BACK to my hometown Cleveland to build m family. - John DeBarr, Cleveland

The scion of native East-siders raised elsewhere, I spent many summers and holidays visiting Cleveland while growing up. Aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins—everyone from each side of the family lived east of the Cuyahoga. We were the 'oddballs,' tucked away in the wilds of Kalamazoo, MI. After college, and after 5 years living in Indianapolis, I came 'home' to Cleveland in 1999. Starting out in the rarefied climes of Chagrin Falls, I quickly scandalized and shocked my relatives—by moving to Lakewood. From Edgewater Drive, I first moved to Ohio City, and then Cudell, and finally settled—purchasing my first home—in Tremont. World-class cultural activities, from the museums to the theatres to the dance troupes and orchestras; expansive recreational opportunities and green spaces (especially those abutting Lake Erie); and vibrant neighborhoods chock-full of character-laden, affordable housing stock all contribute to a quality of life that is difficult to replicate other places. For all of its challenges and issues, Cleveland is a great place to call home. - David Mehring, Cleveland

Cleveland has much to offer - from the Art Museum to the sports (pro and college). But the best thing about the area is some of the great companies in Northeast Ohio. - John Motuza, Stow

I moved from Cleveland to Seattle a year ago and I miss so much about Cleveland. Parade the Circle has it all over the Fremont Solstice parade (with the overdone sensationalism of the naked bikers an little else) and Pike Market is a kitschy tourist trap compared to th real thing on West 25th. Thirty-some years ago, Seattle an Cleveland were facing similar economic slumps. If I find the magi fairy dust that led to the dramatic growth here—I will scoop it up bottle it and send it back there. But not if it turns Cleveland int the blanched, white, exclusively rich city that Seattle has become. - Wendy Johnson, Seattle, WA

Cleveland is so cool because there are people here who have not lost their positive attitude about their region, their city and their neighborhoods They keep trying, every day, to not only make Cleveland a better place to live, but to show people the great things the city already has to offer. - Sandy Smith, Cleveland

Sitting along the river bank in the Flats watching freighters and tug go by, looking up at downtown, seeing industry working, housing going up and looking at the fabulous bridges. Also, the great neighborhood (especially St. Clair Superior!), wonderful ethnic restaurants, class cultural institutions, beautiful downtown, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and kayaking on the lake. - Cory Riordan

Cleveland is so cool because it is what it is, and it's open t possibilities, and it welcomes opportunity to build on what we're mad of. But it doesn't get all "in your face" or pretend to be something i isn't. And that's more than enough. That's in fact, pretty ideal, in my opinion. - Erica Kurtz

I moved here from Houston, TX 20 years ago. I wanted to go east of the Mississippi and north of the Mason Dixon line, but not Cleveland. My former husband received a job offer we couldn’t refuse and here we are. I love Cleveland. The lake, the museums, great libraries, always something going on, the diversity, beautiful neighborhoods, amazing parks, great restaurants, friendly people and crazy drivers. Such an incomplete list for such a great city. I’d love to sport a CLE+ sticker on my Mini Cooper. —Crystal Daprile, Cleveland

My favorite part of Cleveland is University Circle. Having all the museums in one centrally located place creates the ability for a great afternoon of family fun. —Caroline Haas, North Royalton

Here's to Clevelandia! Ethnic treats & eats! Gallories gallore! Fabulous orchestra! Theatre with all the glam! Sports...can't wait for the Lake Erie Monsters! Outdoor natural areas all around the necklace! Millions of free things to do, see, visit and enjoy! Easy access from Huntington Park to Mentor Headlands! Amazing higher education facilities! Have been around the world twice and lived away a number of times and have ALWAYS COME BACK FOR MORE. My adult children have been around and about the world and the US and have come back. My Texan husband says he will never be far from Lake Erie. Clevelandia home! —(Rev.) Paula Maeder Connor, Lakewood

I love Cleveland because it is my home. I am born and raised in Cleveland and I can't imagine living anywhere else. Other Cities are nice to visit but there is something to be said about "home". You can't beat that feeling. —Monica Day, Fairview Park

Why Do I Love CLE? Let me count the ways:

1. Lake Erie
2. Westside Market
3. Metroparks
4. Cuyahoga National Valley
5. University Circle
6. Little Italy

I could go on and on.... —Nikki Farley, Lakewood

My favorite reason Cleveland is so cool: the people, none like us in the world! —Candi Clouse, Cleveland

Why Cleveland is cool? We’re a major league city at minor league prices. With the world’s best hospitals, museums, theaters, educational research, the West Side Market, trendy affordable neighborhoods (try and find that anywhere else), the home to Rock and Roll, utter devotion to major sports, high quality (Lola, Fahrenheit, Pier W, Blue Pointe Grille, Momocho) and low-high quality (Slyman’s, Town Fryer, Sterly’s) food, concentrated nightlife, and accessibility. It’s a wonderful place but it’s not going to slap you in the face – open your eyes and look underneath that rock. I’ll bet that you will find a treasure. Bottom line: Cleveland Rocks. —Jeffrey T. Verespej, Cleveland

Cleveland is cool because it was multicultural long before multiculturalism was PC. —Jan Stanley, Brecksville

Here's why I think Cleveland is so cool... I am a French teacher in Chagrin Falls Schools, was born and raised in Solon, did stints in Kent, Twinsburg, Lakewood and now Cleveland Heights for the last 10 years. I have contemplated leaving Cleveland at various times but am so happy to have decided to stay. My husband, his brother AND sister are all transplants from Syracuse, NY and are here to stay, as well. Cleveland is so cool because my three little boys and I can take "walks with a purpose." By that I mean that when we take a walk, we can actually go somewhere besides wandering aimlessly around a development. (not that there's anything wrong with that! ). We love to walk to Lee Rd. and visit the public library, Phoenix Coffee, Brennan's Colony, Revive clothing and more. Also a short walk away is "On The Rise" bakery, Sunbeam children's clothing store, a florist and stationary store at Taylor and Fairmount Roads. In this day and age of everyone spreading so far out, it is nice to have so many amenities in close proximity! I could go on with the location of my son's preschool just down the street, Coventry a short bike ride, etc. University Circle only moments away is another bonus! We love it here, especially in the summer! In this day and age of gas prices, environmental concerns and social responsibility, it is nice to have so many amenities in close proximity! —Christie Hawley Neimeier, Cleveland Heights

Cleveland is so Cool BECAUSE of Cool Cleveland! Thank you guys. (we need two stickers for our two Hummers) :) —Peter Sampson, Cleveland

Cleveland is so cool….because residents here have a voice. We’re not just a number among tens of thousands but can directly impact the well being of the city by participating in events, raising our voice at forums or simply, being an ambassador for Cleveland! —Natalie Sobonya, Cleveland Heights

Cleveland is the best city we've ever lived in. Lake Erie for boating, fine museums, all major sports and, best of all, you can afford to live well. We've lived in New York City, Columbus, Des Moines... many more. Again, for quality of life, you can't beat Cleveland. Just wish city govn would "lead" the city with out saddling us with additional debt. Do city / county employees really need a new office building? How will taxpayers lives improve? What is the ROI to us? We're living on a government Master Card and the payments will choke a generation. —Steve Rudolph, Strongsville

Why is Cleveland so cool? Because Clevelanders are real, lack pretension, work hard, and play hard. —Chris Dawson, Lakewood

What makes Cleveland great to me is the variety of things to see and do. I am a permanent fan of the Westside Market, enjoy attending events like last week's Ingenuity festival and Taste of Tremont and I'm loving the Broadway series at Playhouse Square. Sheffield Lake

Cleveland is cool because we have everything that everyone else wants! Lake Erie, Metro Parks, Theatre District, Cleveland Orchestra, Indians, Cavaliers, Browns and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! —Rocco Fana, Elyria

Coolest thing about Cleveland is Lake Erie. Other major cities in Ohio are jealous. —Erik C. Heinrich, Parma

many little cities in the big one... tremont, slavic village, west park, murray hill, ohio city etc; All provide unique experiences; great food and culture. —Paul Tokar, Shaker Heights

Cleveland is so cool because of Lake Erie, the Metroparks, and because of the city's history and future. The CMA and lots of other museums are very cool--CSU's all people art show is very cool. Plus I love the design of Cleveland+ and the concept. —Jane McCrone, Cleveland

Cleveland is cool because we have diversity in our ethnic heritage and culture. —James Coufalik, Cleveland

Cleveland is so cool I have a hard time settling for only one reason. How about " There is SOMETHING FUN to do EVERY DAY in Cleveland" —Cheryl Gross

Why is Cleveland so cool? Because of you guys. And because it’s a great news town—with just enough shady politics and goofy ideas to keep it interesting, but not so much that it becomes depressing. I *love* that you guys are distributing these stickers. I hope to be the first in our newsroom to sport one. —Dan Moulthrop, ideastream, Cleveland
