Reach to Recovery Spring Luncheon brings its 19th annual spring fashion show that will spotlight designer clothing from Toni of Chagrin Falls, a boutique that carries a line called French Dressing, and donates 50% of its sales to breast cancer research. This event recognizes the American Cancer Society’s one-to-one support program for women pairing newly diagnosed breast cancer patients with women who have successfully lived through the breast cancer experience. Ohio Wax During May get a glimpse of traveling wax museum's free public exhibit, temporarily on view at the lower level of Tower City Center and displayed along side the classic film House of Wax. See history take shape: life-like and life-size figures of Ohio natives such as John Glenn, Halle Berry and Johnny "Appleseed" Chapman are just a few of the wax figures in the collection. The exhibit is also accompanied by information about their famous lives. The Ohio Wax Museum is a new non-profit founded to celebrate Ohio's most valuable asset - its people. “Out of the Closet” It’s the art objects that are stepping out of the closet in this show. Artist, Anne T. Kmieck, inspired by a trip to Mexico, uses dresses to explore historical, social, religious, biological, and popular intellectual concepts about the female body. Each contemporary dress was given a different artistic treatment and carries a historical theme. See why her work has been displayed throughout Ohio, in Pittsburgh and in the Windy City. Haunted Cleveland Now in its fourth season, the company takes you back to the 1930’s during the Great Depression. The “Torso Murder Tour” revisits the most massive homicide investigation in Cleveland’s history; one that even Eliot Ness couldn’t solve. Become a detective for an evening on Fri 5/6 from 6-10PM and conduct your own investigation of these 13 unsolved murders.
