When the weather is right, which it was when we visited Holden Arboretum recently, you can easily spot Lake Erie from the top of the Emergent Tower, and it seems like you can see all the way to Canada!

CoolCleveland spent some time with Eva Rodriguez, Holden's interpretive services coordinator, as she pointed out all the cool new labels and signage that help to explain not only the physiology of the trees and plants at Holden, but also the story behind them, how they interact and how they impact our day to day lives.

You have to see it to believe it. Tens of thousands of otherwise normal Lego bricks have been creatively fashioned by artist Sean Kenney into a menagerie of insects, animals, flowers and even full sized humans.

Nature Connects: Art with LEGO Bricks is on display throughout the Cleveland Botanical Garden, inside and out, until Sun 8/27. CoolCleveland connected with the CBG’s Cynthia Druckenbrod to have a peek at these 13 incredible sculptures, comprising a total of 500,000 LEGO bricks, plus the hands-on activities, stay-and-play stations and contributions from area artists.
