Lakewood goes green

Rather than change laws and increase regulations, which might discourage redevelopment, this approach intends to educate and reward those who think green. Buildings can be more efficient, and water runoff can be recycled, as can waste and building materials. The effects will be significant in a city with many older buildings that are constantly being renovated, all fourteen school facilities slated for upgrading, and large-scale municipal projects. Sadhu Johnston, executive director of the Cleveland Green Building Coalition, has said Lakewood could become a model for design and architecture innovations.
