MOCA Cleveland

Check out The Beat UPTOWN, a free outdoor concert series, held in Toby’s Plaza, every Thursday for the next four weeks from 6PM – 9PM. In addition to being an awesome chance to hear live music, be sure to take full advantage of the delicious food vendors, cornhole, and the discount night next door at MOCA.

CoolCleveland met up with MOCA‘s Deidre McPherson to get the scoop. McPherson explained that the series is a joint effort between MOCA, Case and the Beachland Ballroom, and is aimed at getting people to enjoy the new UPTOWN neighborhood. Click here for the complete schedule.

The Beat Uptown is turning it up again with David Loy + the Ramrods and the legendary Generators hitting the stage on Thu 7/30 @ 6:00pm for free on Toby’s Plaza. Check out the punk/rock concert, all while enjoying food trucks, dancing, and all the other delights Uptown has to offer.

Did we forget to mention that it's discount night at MOCA? After the concert head on over and take a look at the local centric exhibition "How to Remain Human," and get a better perspective on what makes Cleveland tick. Look for the CoolCleveland crew; we'll see you there!

----- 8) 06.17.15-----

With a creative focus on local/regional talent, MOCA's How to Remain Human is an excellent portrayal of what it's like being an artist in the mid-west. Their struggles, their victories, and everything else, all go into being human, and these artists have captured it perfectly.

CoolCleveland was on the scene opening night to get visitors' thoughts on the new exhibition, in addition to getting a first hand view four ourselves. If you weren't lucky enough to attend opening night, watch the video and make a date to check out the exhibition before its closing on Sat 9/5.///

----- 7) 02.11.15-----

If you have yet to experience MOCA Cleveland's new exhibition by Ragnar Kjartansson, entitled "The Visitors," then you have to make your way over to their University Circle location to check it out. "The Visitors" highlights eight performers collaborating on one song, separately, for 64 minutes, in the same New York mansion.

CoolCleveland was on the scene last week at MOCA's Winter/Spring opening night, and caught some testimonials of art lovers immersing themselves in the piece. You could tell they were all moved, inspired, and in sheer awe. "The Visitors" will be on display until Sun 5/24.
