Cool Cleveland Manifesto

I believe in what I see,
I believe in what I hear,
I believe that what I'm feeling,
Changes how the world appears.

  • Writing involves our passions, belief systems and compulsions.
  • Writing defines us and challenges us as individuals.
  • Writing is a personal act of faith and passion in communication.

Our writing should always be guided by these principles, approaching unsolvable, uncomfortable topics and reaching out to others in an effort to expand their horizon line.

Our writing should approach Cleveland the way that people from outside approach the city--particularly with fresh eyes--just as our knowledge of institutional memory of being longtime (and lifelong) Clevelanders allows us to remember the best and worst of the past.

Cleveland has a myriad of activities every single day of the week. These activities range from the "corny folksy family level" stuff, all the way to "cutting edge." We want our readers to operate within and without their comfort zones, enriched by a plethora of creative and intentional options.

We operate and engage Cool Cleveland and other such related activities to "promote the attitude, thought process, and atmosphere for the growth of creativity in Arts, Culture, Business, and Community." We do this "as an outlet for the publishment of stories, poems, and articles that praises, condemns, extols, corrects, bestows, and expresses opinions of enthusiastic civic minded citizens on politics, education, science, economic development, socialability, beauty, and the human condition."

We offer this to show "that discourse, tolerance, and diversity are keys to the success of our region, our city, and our individuals." To this end, we continue to pervade the collective consciousness in Northeast Ohio with a new model of media expression... like the radio waves of old, it carries ideas, thoughts and expressions of our ultimate goal: connection, collaboration, and empowerment in our region.

That's why we believe.
