Originally opened in 2006 at the front end of Lakewood's culinary renaissance, Melt Bar and Grilled's original location just went through its first major renovation and spiffing up.
Owner Matt Fish walks Cool Cleveland?'s Thomas Mulready through the new rear entrance, new kitchen, new signage, new floors, new bar, new Jake Kelly mural, and the original massive Detroit Theatre sign.
What hasn't changed is the outrageous menu, the same amazing kitchen staff and the same awesome attitude. Welcome back!.
Melt in Lakewood is tearing it up! After 12 years, the original Melt location is undergoing major renovations. While keeping the same cool look and Lakewood charm, the space is being gutted and rebuilt as a new, modern Melt Bar and Grilled.
CoolCleveland's Stephan Haluska met up with Melt's owner and founder, Matt Fish on day one of the 26-day renovation. Some of the bigger modifications are a redesigned kitchen, new unisex restrooms, and a whole lot of cosmetic work in the dining room. Come check out the brand new look on Fri 4/27, for the grand reopening! In the meantime, you can always eat the same great food at Melt's other Cleveland area locations in Avon, Independence and beyond.

Melt Bar and Grilled opened their flagship comfort-food and craft beer hangout in Lakewood in 2006 and has grown to a family of hip dining spots throughout Northern Ohio with restaurants in Cleveland, Akron, Columbus and Progressive Field.
But 2017 looks to be a breakout year for Matt Fish and Melt Bar and Grilled with their newest location just opened at Cedar Point and their next offering in Dayton, Ohio.
