Education, science and fun, all combined into one! That's exactly how we would describe Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District's Open House, which takes place at their EMSC facility on Sat 9/17. CoolCleveland met up with NEORSD's Jennifer Elting at last year's Open House to get the scoop. The event was a huge success, and the smile on Elting's face told it all. And this year's Open House will be even better. More info.

If you have any prescription medications at home, it’s possible you also have outdated or unused pills in your medicine cabinet beside them. Not sure how to dispose of them safely?
In days past, it was common for meds to be flushed down the toilet rather than being thrown into the garbage where they could be a threat for children or pets. But the truth is that flushing them can be a threat, too: A threat to the environment. Find the best way to pitch your pills safely through the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District’s #PitchThosePills initiative.

Nothing compares to a neighborhood walk in the late summer. Similarly, nothing compares to the frustration of a stroll being distracted by the sight or smell of pet waste on the tree lawn. Sorry, just being honest. The truth is, despite some dog owners' insistence, that dog doo is not fertilizer.
