Cool Cleveland hosts cool party in Akron-Canton
New lower price & chance to win a pair of airline tix

Cleveland, Ohio, September 21, 2007 Cool Cleveland is known for it's kickin' parties. Since 2002, this weekly e-blast that spotlights cool people and things to do in Northeast Ohio has been promoting it's own brand of after-work networking parties all over the region. From a Mystery Tour in Cleveland's Chinatown, to a hot singles party in the Warehouse District, to inner-ring hotspots Lakewood and Cleveland Heights, to a pre-concert gathering with the Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom or a blow-out at Oberlin College, Cool Cleveland's parties have attracted civic-minded young people and those looking for good food, open bar, hot entertainment and interesting locales, all geared to spotlight the coolest places and activities in the region.

Setting a new standard is Cool Cleveland's latest soiree on Friday, September 28 starting at 5:30PM at the Akron-Canton Airport, featuring open bar with beer & wine, tasty hors d'oeuvres, and a concert showcase with one of the hottest bands on the radio today. To sweeten the deal, one lucky person will win two airline tickets to one of the six destinations around the country that Akron-Canton Airport serves: Las Vegas, Boston, New York City, Tampa, Denver, or Orlando. The winning trip may be taken anytime in the next year.

Ticket price at the door will be $25.00 per person. Ticket prices have been reduced to an incredible $9.99 per person if purchased online before midnight, Thursday, September 27 at: http://www.CoolCleveland.com.

The party begins at 5:30 p.m. with an open bar featuring beer and wine and delectable hors d'oeuvres prepared to perfection: Salmon Pinwheels, Cajun Chicken Puffs, New England Crab Cakes, Stuffed Mushrooms with Goat Cheese Crust, Zucchini Napoleon and Steak and Portabello Satays, all provided by the 356th Fighter Group Restaurant & Banquet Center.

The party continues with a concert by deSoL, a bilingual-flavored, Jersey-based Latin rock band, in the airport museum hangar, MAPS (Military Aviation Preservation Society) at 7:30 p.m., surrounded by awesome WWII fighter planes. The band is provided by 91.3FM The Summit, Akron-Canton's classic rock/pop/acoustic/alternative radio station.

Live in Cleveland and don’t feel like driving? Grab the complimentary Cool Cleveland bus, departing from the Mallorca Restaurant on W. 9th Street. Bus departs Cleveland for Akron at 4:30 p.m., returning after the concert. Park near the Mallorca Restaurant on W. 9th St. and look for the Rockin' Cleveland bus, Cleveland's premiere party bus service.

“What’s not to like about Latin-infused live music, a free trip and a great airport,” said airport marketing and communications Kristie VanAuken. “We want to throw the party of the year; that’s why we’ve partnered with Cool Cleveland and 91.3 The Summit. These guys know how to throw an awesome party that you won’t want to miss.”

This party is made possible by partners like AirTran Airways, Canton Chair Rental, WAPS-FM 91.3, The Summit, the 356th Fighter Group Restaurant and Banquet Center, Maps Air Museum and Woodsy’s Audio/Visual.

"We're pulling out the stops for this one," said Thomas Mulready of Cool Cleveland. For one super-low price, you can have your hors d'oeuvres and open bar, then check out one of the hottest bands live in concert in an airplane hangar. Then, to top it off, someone is awarded two airline tix they can use anytime in the next year. Sounds to me like everyone's a winner."
