Samantha Macke was looking for a summer camp for her son Myles. She talked with CoolCleveland about why Myles is coming back for his third summer in a row, and why The Music Settlement stood out as they were looking for a Summer Music Camp.
They have found that Myles' musicianship has improved, he is applying for scholarships, he knows music theory, he's experimenting with new musical genres, and he's auditioning and competing in area music programs.

Master percussionist Jamey Haddad is NEO treasure. A Cleveland native, he teaches at Oberlin College between gigs with superstars like Paul Simon and Sting.
His heart is in jazz and world music, and he has collected over 1000 percussion instruments on his travels. He has also connected with musicians from around the world. His group Under One Sun is setting up for a rare 3-night gig at BOP STOP on Aug 26, 27 & 28, then they are headed into the studio at Oberlin to record.
When Jamey heard that the BOP STOP was in need of a decent piano, he pulled some strings and the day we arrived, a restored 7-foot Steinway B was being delivered on a permanent loan from Oberlin College. The gifts keep coming.

This month BOP STOP completed Phase I of its sound system installation and acoustic renovation. With a state of the art digital board and $22K+ in new microphones the BOP STOP is now equipped for high end live recordings and an even better live listening experience. Phase II of the installation will include a new PA system, lighting/visual system, and acoustic treatment.
