Eric Mull is Cleveland Proud
Cle Photog Promotes Hometown in American Skyscraper

It might seem like Cleveland is down right now -- a bleak winter started, job layoffs and the threat of more closings, and a recession that seems to hit Northeast Ohio harder than most areas. But Cleveland photographer Eric Mull is looking up. That's because the subject of his recently published book, The American Skyscraper, is the nation's tallest buildings. And he's making sure Cleveland stands tall among the tallest, putting Key Tower on the cover.

The Bay Village resident traveled around the country documenting these signatures of the American skyline that tower triumphantly over every major metropolis, part history, part engineering and art, and all majesty.

"Most people drive by our nation's skylines everyday without ever looking up," Mull offers. "The detail and vast differences from building to building in each American city are as defining as the people themselves." His On The Road/Kerouac adventure included visits to 17 cities to shoot the 51 tallest buildings in the U.S., documenting every era of American architecture and raising the ire of security guards across the country by taking pictures of tall buildings in post-9/11 America.

In addition to the book, Eric is one of the city’s most talented and versatile photographers, running a successful studio just east of Downtown on Superior Avenue. His work frequently graces the covers of local publications like Cleveland Magazine and Inside Business. He also offers up picture-perfect French cuisine as co-owner of the bistro, Tartine, in Rocky River.

The American Skyscraper lists at $29.99. For more information, go to http://www.theamericanskyscraper.com
