With all the French-bashing going on right now, it was nice to see a good turnout for some froggy-style electronica at Pat's in the Flats Friday, 3/28 for the Third Wave Campaign the first of several electronica events at Pat's. Promoted and hosted by Experimedia/Headroom Digital, Third Wave featured the minimal electrowave sounds of a collaborative ensemble from the French record label, Invasion Planete. "I actually met them through the Web and managed a two-week, five city tour of the U.S.," says Jeremy Bible, promoter for the Canton-based Experimedia. Uprooted from the Dutch Electro scene, the musicians are touring the U.S. cities together, but perform five seamless sets under different names such as Le Syndicat Electronique and Porn.Darsteller, among others. Other cities on the tour include New York, Providence, Chicago and Washington D.C. If those shows were anything like the Cleveland show, they were packed with a diverse crowd of electronica junkies, partaking in lots of head-bobbing and robot dancing.
