Renee Flynn is a member of Tri-C’s Alumni & Friends Association. She started out in high school taking classes at Tri-C to help her learn Japanese to become an exchange student.

When she returned, she went back to Tri-C and started taking courses for her undergraduate degree, eventually transferring to another school for her degree. Now, she owns her own marketing company.

Tri-C Alum John Kametz graduated in one of the very first classes at Tri-C, making him a true pioneer. He studied journalism at Tri-C, then transferred to Kent State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree. He then worked at Sun Newspapers for over 30 years.

Now retired, he works as an historic interpreter at Hale Farm and Village, where Tri-C hosted their recent Alumni & Friends Association event. He talks with visiting school groups about 19th century medicine and some of the sites and houses and the grounds at Hale Farm and Village.

Tri-C Alum Jill Certo is enjoying a free Alumni event at Hale Farm & Village as she talks with Cool Cleveland about her fabulous academic career that all started at Tri-C.

After earning her Associate's degree at Tri-C and working with the counselors there to coordinate her classes so ALL her credits transferred, she went on to earn Bachelor's degrees from Oberlin College and Cleveland State University, and a Masters from Smith College.

Jill has fond memories of her time at Tri-C: "Everything transferred over, it was great. It really lowered the cost of by Bachelor's degree considerably." Tri-C.edu/alumni

What are these folks doing at a Cleveland Indians ball game? Enjoying themselves at a Tri-C Alumni & Friends Association outing.

During the game, we pulled them aside for a few moments and asked about their experiences as Tri-C students. "I wanted to prepare for college." "I can't enough about the teachers." "They show you your road map." "Very supportive. It was affordable. And it was convenient. "The professors were really nice. Very helpful. A lot of friendly faces there." "It was just so easy going. They made it very comforting. They said, you can do it." "They show you exactly what credits you need. Your road map."

Holly Gaidelis had a good reason to consider Tri-C when she was looking to further her education. Her father recommended Tri-C, as he was also an alum. He had attended back in the 1980's.

"They show you your road map. They show you exactly what credits you need. They make sure you have all your credits so you can finish on time."

"I thought, I love the school so much, why not join the Alumni Association? My dad had joined years before. Go Tribe!"

Michael DeSatnik of Dean Supply, a restaurant supply company, was looking for interns with graphic design and computer skills. Mike called Tri-C and they hooked him up. Now he’s looking for more to help out later in the year.

As for what he found at the Tri-C Alumni Association party at the Cleveland Indians game, Mike has this to say, “Good people. Good Food. Good Times.”

"It was September of 1963. I had attended Ohio State, and they told me to come home, sit down and rest for a while. Instead of doing that, I went to Tri-C when they opened the doors."
