Fred Brace & Lauren Buerkle
The Avenue District

Fred Brace & Lauren Buerkle Fred Brace and Lauren Buerkle are both ready to move a little closer to the action. Lauren is anxious to get out of her cramped apartment in Shaker Heights, and Fred is ready to leave his place in Willoughby to be in the heart of the city in The Avenue District Townhomes. They both enjoy nightlife, Lake Erie and Indians and Cavs games, and Lauren is a self-admitted "musical theatre junkie." One thing they won't miss is chain restaurants every week.

Lauren and Fred chose a Townhome over a high rise— they have their own front porch and their own 2-car garage. Listen as Fred describes the layout of their new Townhome and the superior finishes that they selected. Lauren also talks about the ceramic tile, hardwood flooring, granite countertops in the kitchen, and Corian in the bathrooms. And the bottom line? The tax abatement was "really the only reason we were able to move down here," says Fred. Compared to a starter home in a moderately taxed area, they will have $75K more home (for the same monthly payment) at The Avenue District because of the tax abatement. http://www.TheAvenueDistrict.com

Mike Caito
City Architecture

Mike Caito of City Architecture has been instrumental in the design of The Avenue District. As a part of the design team, he’s excited about being part of the redevelopment of downtown Cleveland and the creation of a fresh, new neighborhood that’s unlike anything else in the city. He can’t wait until all the buildings - each different in architecture, style, layout and price – and what he calls “the pedestrian district” are completed. With bike racks and paths, outdoor cafes, dry cleaners, bakeries, coffee shops and restaurants, he envisions it as an “outdoor living room” where people will hang out 24 hours a day. Listen to Mike talk about the convenient 3-story parking garage and beautifully landscaped common area on its roof. What really impresses Mike are the opportunities that this neighborhood will give residents to meet at the coffee shop or while walking their dogs, to talk and just to relax. “You just don’t get this in the suburbs,” Mike claims. He predicts that people who work downtown today and go home at 5PM will stay downtown and hang out. http://www.TheAvenueDistrict.com'

Lawrence Carter & Kevin Schmotzer
City Architecture

Lawrence Carter & Kevin Schmotzer decided to move from their home on West 110th Street in Cleveland to The Avenue District because they want to be part of an urban environment where they can walk to everything. Kevin works at City Hall and would like to walk to and from work every day rather than take his car or public transportation. As part of his job in Economic Development, he talks to people about the benefits of living downtown. Listen as Kevin discusses why he wants to “walk the walk” and be part of it all. Lawrence, who is part-owner of a pet boutique, is also looking forward to becoming part of a walkable neighborhood that’s not only pet-friendly but also offers amenities such as tailors, dentists, doctors, pharmacies and grocery stores. No more driving to get a gallon of milk – just turn the corner, and there you are.

Because they’ll be so close to the theater, warehouse district and sporting events, Kevin and Lawrence anticipate that their new home at The Avenue District will become the new hub for all their friends. http://www.TheAvenueDistrict.com'

Joe Del Re
The Avenue District

As New Projects Coordinator for Zaremba, Joe Del Re has the inside track on The Avenue District. He’ll tell you that the inspiration for it came from Nathan Zaremba and his vision for mainstreet urban living on the East Side of Cleveland. He points out that The Avenue District brings “for sale” housing into parts of the city where there is none today. Joe’s really knowledgeable about The Avenue District’s many housing options –Townhomes, Condos and Penthouses. Listen to him describe what you get with a Townhome. He says there’s no reason to compromise when you buy in the city. For instance, the building with Condos and Penthouses is one of the highest quality residential buildings in Cleveland, its design like buildings in New York and San Francisco. Joe describes the Condos as truly unique – with standard granite countertops, hardwood floors, plenty of light and glass - most with private balconies and the most dramatic views in Cleveland. When it comes to The Avenue District, he feels that people are really wowed by the many lifestyle and entertainment options they didn’t realize they would have by living downtown. http://www.TheAvenueDistrict.com
