Plug into Cleveland's own Civic Innovation Lab and find out what it takes to become one of Cleveland's "Champions." Jennifer Thomas, Lab Director, will provide highlights of the first two years, while Ronn Richard, President of the Cleveland Foundation and Brad Whitehead, Program Director for Economic Development outline why and how The Cleveland Foundation is shaking up how economic decisions are made in Greater Cleveland. After 2 years in operation, the Lab has supported 17 initiatives and granted over $400,000 to champions with great ideas to grow Cleveland. Collectively these champions are changing the economic landscape and the Lab wants to throw a party in their honor. Come celebrate with us!

In what used to be the old Euclid Avenue Opera House, Pickwick & Frolic is located at 2035 East 4th Street [between Euclid and Prospect.]

  • A Champion is any individual who has an idea and the desire, energy and willingness to make that idea a reality for Greater Cleveland. Champions are dedicated, passionate, and knowledgeable about their initiative. Just as important, champions are willing to take risks, including financial, career, and reputation risk. There is no one background, education or experience that makes someone a champion, but rather intangible qualities such as motivation, ingenuity, thoughtfulness and willingness to work hard are what make a champion. Thomas Mulready and Cool Cleveland are Civic Innovation Lab "Champions."
