Cool Cleveland’s Hottest Triple Threat: CMA (Cleveland Museum of Art) and CIA (Cleveland Institute of Art) in One Place at One TIME (The Integrated Multimedia Environment).

Add some edge to your Friday night! Don’t miss the cultural party that’s going to rock you up one side and down the other – when Cleveland’s awesome, artistic community collaborates on a major cultural vibe that headlines 11/11 at Cool Cleveland’s Night Out. Start at 5:30PM in the Institute’s Reinberger Gallery (11141 East Blvd.) with the radical, futuristic exhibition and docent tours of “Dreaming of a More Better Future” (as in: Did the Jetson’s get it right or wrong?). The exhibit highlights the work of 47 artists, designers, illustrators, architects, film and video creators and digital artists. Then partake in beer, wine and delish delectables from Elan Catering and Bridges Restaurant in the Student Lounge and Ohio Bell Auditorium while grooving to the latest in electronic dance music DJ-ed by Severiano Martinez of the Shinkoyo Arts Collective. [Free parking behind CIA – off Bellflower or East Blvd. – gates will be open.]

At 7:30 in the Aiken Auditorium experience the artistic successes of Eduardo Kac, Professor and Chair of the Art/Technology Department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Kac has designed his own career with an expansive list of credits that includes his internationally recognized interactive net installations and bio art. A pioneer of "transgenic art," his projects often link virtual and physical spaces, proposing alternative ways of understanding the role of communication phenomena in creating shared realities.

Afterwards (9PM 'til midnight) check out CMA’s “Fast Forward” party held at the CIA Factory, three blocks away (shuttles available), where you can immerse yourself in live music, food, libations and the burgeoning and hip student art scene with artwork, experiments, and ongoing performances around every corner.

Getcha Some. One ridiculously low price of $15 for all this: Beer, wine, great food, live music, the hippest art exhibition in town, the lowdown on how one alum did it all, and the CMA’s Fast Forward party highlighting the latest craze in student art.
